Danica and Kaitie Ty were good friends. In Fall 2025, Danica died unexpectedly in her sleep. The morning after learning she had passed, Kaitie woke up singing this new song. She knew it was Danica’s.
The first set of lyrics that came through were:

As Kaitie awoke and continued to sing the song throughout the day, variations of the lyrics began swirling around. For a while Kaitie thought about creating a version with several verses, but for the sake of community singing, she’s settled for now on these lyrics as the dominant set:
