Sara writes:  I first stumbled across Heather Pierson’s works while exploring community music sites during the pandemic. Heather lives in Maine and is involved in many musical collaborations. Heather sings and leads with Rev. Bernice Martin in a community song project called Heart Songs and Circle Songs. Heather and Bernice have journeyed out to Song Village in the past couple of years, much to Sara’s delight.  Heather’s songs are often simple to learn and deliver deep song medicine.  You can see Heather singing Love Like Water  here:

Here is a simple recording (from Sara) breaking down  melody (0-25 seconds), harmony (25 to 50 seconds) and descant (50 seconds to end):

Lyrics:

1.  Love like water is flowing and soft and just like water strong enough to wear away rock.

2.  (Descant) Love, like water is flowing and soft and love, can wear away rock.
