[Feel free to change the day of the week to suit what you need to sing about.]

Lyrics:
Let it be okay for a [Tuesday] to just be a [Tuesday]
One night, one night, it’s just one night
Day by day, take it day by day

Here is the recording of the song’s very origins: you can hear Kaitie working out the parts with a Living Room Choir winter drop-in crowd, in December 2024.

Here’s another audio clip, courtesy of Hot Summer, from the Berkeley Adult School singers playing with the song the following week, using Thursday instead of Tuesday.

Kaitie writes, on social media: A little holiday cheer from my stresslevels to yours… happy Tuesday! May our days be allowed to be whatever they are, even if they’re a holiday or something.

This medicine song arrived in time for the holidays, and is a good reminder to take the pressure off any day that is “supposed” to be a big-deal or go a certain way. Kaitie got the first inklings of the song on a Thursday, approaching an event she was nervous about, but decided to use Tuesday for its inception, in reference to an inside joke:

Many years ago, my friend Javi and I were in deep disappointment over how New Years Eve had gone. Crying over the phone to one another, our tears turned to laughter as we realized the immense amount of pressure we were putting on something that was, ultimately, just a Tuesday. “Let Tuesday be Tuesday!” became our inside joke and a shorthand reminder to lighten up about our expectations.

Shortly after the recording above was taken, one of the LRC singers, Jen K, brilliantly articulated that this medicine song could also be helpful to folks who are approaching a painful anniversary, and are wanting a new experience of the day.
