Molly writes:  Thank you so much for honoring and carrying Go Singing!  She is one of my faves and was actually one of my earlier songs, must be 20 years old by now.  She came through when the US was going to war, I believe with Afghanistan, yes that would make sense timing wise…And she was a claiming of joy and aliveness when the war machine seemed (and of course, still seems) to be at risk of destroying those for so many.  So she is a resistance song.  You are so welcome to sing and share Go Singing in whatever way, whatever arrangement, in whatever space and place you choose.

Sara first heard “Go Singing” from a Sirenz recording and was hooked by the message and the beat!  Sirenz was an acapella group in Santa Cruz that included Molly Hartwell, Heather Houston, Samantha Keller and Sage Mendez.  Living Room Choir performed a simple arrangement of Go Singing at the Berkeley Public Library back in 2017.  Here we are back at that early concert!”

Kaitie first learned Go Singing from Barbara McAfee and brought it to Living Room Choir then, in the simple arrangement Sara mentioned above. Sara loved it and later learned this version of Go Singing from teaching tracks created by Lisa Littlebird who based her arrangement off of an arrangement created by Maggie Wheeler of Golden Bridge Choir.  Lisa’s library can be found at https://thebirdsings.com/ and you can help support Lisa’s work  here:  https://www.patreon.com/c/thebirdsings/posts You can explore Maggie Wheeler’s extensive creative pursuits and support her work here: https://maggiewheeler.net/home. Lyrics:

1.
Eh hey oom, eh hey hey oom oom, eh hey oom, eh hey

2.
If they’re gonna to take me down,
I’m gonna go, I’m gonna go singing.
If they’re gonna bring me down,
I’m gonna go, I’m gonna go dancing.

3.
‘Cause I know what’s at stake here,
and I will not stop, loving this
‘Cause I know what’s at stake here,
and I will not stop, loving this

4.
I will not stop loving this life.
I will not stop celebrating.
I will not give up this vision
Of peace.
