Last week I met 3 new friends on Gambier Island in BC while teaching at an amazing singing camp called Songroots. And we co-wrote this song!
“Gather Your Courage.” Last Thursday at midnight, we gathered everyone from the singing camp faculty together… well, whoever was still awake… and recorded this video!! The 4 who sing the call lines are the songwriters. Oh yes, I almost forgot, our new little co-writing group has a name… we are called… The Courage Collective.For songleaders and song carriers who want to share this song in their communities…. We have some alternate extra verses… gather your spirit etc, and the call and response sections can be extended with different lyrics, sung on different melodies. Basically, there is room in this song. Sing it and share it your own way in the moment. But this is the core of the song.
