SetList

Welcome to the Living Room Choir, Fall Session 2024!

Below is the page for enrolled members in the Fall 2024 Cohort.

All members need to fill out the required questions in the enrollment form. If you haven’t done this, here’s the link https://forms.gle/SFy7STwGjLU3UiHq5
(More details about LRC and Grace Notes and the new Kids’ Corner below.)
YOU MUST REGISTER to receive emails, updates and passwords, even if you only fill out the bare minimum on the form. (If you are not getting emails from us, this is likely the problem.) We’re glad you’re joining us for the Fall Session!

This page is your one-stop shop for all things related to the Fall Session. Some things are password-protected. If you are enrolled in this Session, you will have received an email containing the password you need.

Orientation: mandatory listening for newcomers; encouraged listening for all. Introductions first, then talking starts at approximately 11min.

Grace Notes Only

Kids’ Corner is new as of Fall 2024: thank you for helping us get it started! We suggest a $10 donation per participant, per week, but as usual no one is turned away for lack of funds. This will be an area near the singing that offers alternate activities for kids (of all ages, including grown up kids who may want to do some arts and crafts.)

What’s the difference between LRC and Grace Notes?

LRC (Living Room Choir) is our main event and has been meeting since 2015. Ever evolving, it has some sustaining characteristics:

  • Non-audition, no musical experience necessary
  • We sing as communal experience; this experience is far more important to us than the proficiency of the musical outcome
  • No minimum attendance requirement
  • Come as you are: if the best you can do is roll in there late, in your pajamas, finishing your lunch, just do it. We’ll be thrilled to see you
  • Full access to the Teaching Tracks
  • Full access to the Kids’ Corner
  • Full invitation to participate in the Community Sing, potluck, and other community events
  • You’ll receive weekly emails with updates
  • No required musical homework

Grace Notes is new as of Spring 2024, and existed before this as small groups that would pop up organically alongside Living Room Choir in previous years. This is a self-selected group of folks who are helping shape what it will become. For now you can expect:

  • Non-audition, but some musical proficiency or musical comfort level is necessary
  • Commitment to the schedule, including punctuality
  • A commitment and willingness to catch yourself up outside of rehearsal if you feel behind or have to miss some weeks (your fellow Gracies will likely be happy to help)
  • Full access to the Teaching Tracks
  • Commitment to participate in the Community Sing, potluck, and other LRC community events
  • You’ll receive weekly emails with updates
  • You may receive musical homework at times
  • You’ll get to work on more complex music, at a faster pace
  • We’ll expect to be able to count on you in LRC as strong singers who can “anchor” parts if needed

We can’t wait to sing with you!
