What is a Community Sing & Snacks?
It’s not a performance, and it’s not a rehearsal either…it’s more like…a singing party!

These events are how we mark the end of a Fall or Spring Session, where the choir has been working on songs we’d love to share with you, and celebrate the close of our fixed time together. It’s an opportunity not only to share the songs that we’ve been singing, but to share the spirit and joy that we experience when we raise our voices together. Come get some of the heart-brightening harmonies, available to all of us in the “living room!” There will be light teaching on most of our songs: you can sing along, or just listen.
Choir Members: You’ll invite your friends and family members to come experience the Living Room Choir; they can sit with you, or in their vocal section (soprano/alto/tenor/bass). It’s meant to be comfortable and welcoming. You will also be invited to bring a dish that’s easy to share for the “snacks” portion.
Guests: You will be enfolded into the choir, who know the songs already, and taught enough that you can sing along if you so choose! There is no pressure to sing along if that’s not your jam. (You are not expected to bring a snack as you are our guests, but you’re welcome to if you’re inspired.)
Kids, etc: There will be a Kids Corner (crafting station) available to all. It’s adjacent to the singing so you can be in the music without being in the circle. Kids and adults alike are welcome to float between the song circle and the Kids Corner as they need.
Everyone: Together, we’ll partake in food and fellowship after the singing portion of the event.
These events are by donation: suggested sliding scale $10-30. All proceeds go toward the continuation of this community choir. No amount is too small or too large – we can use it all to support this work and community. You can make your donation through our Payments page ahead of time, or at the event itself. Usually there will be an Eventbrite link sent out where you can reserve your spot, which helps us plan. Seats are not reserved unless you request for a certain seating need.
