Welcome! This page is for students of Berkeley Adult School Community Singing with Kaitie Ty Warren. The most recent Cohort/schedule will be at the top, and each cohort (each 8-10 week series) is represented here, archived below.

If you’re new to Community Singing, here are some things to know:
Dress in layers. We sometimes have doors and windows open for ventilation and it might get chilly.
Bring hydration for yourself (water, room temperature or warmer is best for your voice).
You are welcome to take notes and/or audio record our songs, but it’s not required. You will be given a personalized web page that contains a list of all, and recordings of most, songs we sing together. If you want to have the songs right away, it’s best to record them in the moment. These recordings should only be for personal use.
Singing is a high risk activity for airborne viruses like Covid. I’m a health-conscious person by nature but even more so as a community leader. I know everyone has different comfort levels, but in building a community we need to agree on some central trust and care for one another.
BAS: Community Singing Cohort 3 August 29-October 17, 2024
Hi Cohort 3! What a great first night we had together. At least two people used the word “transformational” – that’s a good sign that we’re doing the right thing!
As we learn songs together, I’ll update this website so you have an alphabetical list of song’s I’ve taught you. Many of these are in the form of teaching pages, which contain lyrics, recordings, and history. You’ll know from being in class, if you want to really know a song or teach it to others, it’s good to have as much info about it as possible. So if any song we sing is something you love but it doesn’t have a teaching page yet, just go ahead and text me for some info. I can’t always keep up with building teaching pages for everything, but I will always send at least something upon request to help you learn a song I’ve taught! Warmly, Kaitie
